« It is a great joy to receive this prize, but it is overshadowed by great sadness as Gaza remains under constant bombardment. My mother, my son, and my family are reduced to living in camps and continue to suffer in a devastated territory. I dedicate my prize to all my journalist colleagues who have been killed or injured in Gaza, and to all the children in my photos. I hope they will soon find peace in Gaza and throughout the region. »
Mohammed ABED
